Niagara Launcher v1.15.5 · Minor Patch

🔖 More suggested category icons when using Icon Assistant
Due to a recent change, Icon Assistant only showed the most fitting category icon for an app.
If multiple categories fit an app (e.g., a card game is also a game), the Icon Assistant now suggests icons for all matching categories (i.e., a deck of cards and a game controller) again.

🌍 Updated translations
Even though Christmas is still a few days away, our translators delivered their gifts early in the form of fresh translations. Thank you very much!

Unless this update leads to something unexpected, it will likely be the last one of 2025 as we head into the holidays.
While this year was full of big changes for us, such as working on Niagara Launcher full-time and moving to a new office, there's one thing that didn't change: the excitement every time we release a new update and nervously wait for your reactions. We can't wait to feel that even more next year with the things we have planned!

🕐 Text clock style now supports opening the agenda
Tapping near the clock style's time opens the alarm settings and tapping anywhere else opens the calendar agenda.

🎮 Add more fine-grained Anycons for various game genres
Since we changed how the Anycons work internally (they don't require an internet connection anymore), all games without individual icons simply used a controller icon. From now on, there are icons for various game genres.
Note: It might take some time after installing this update before Niagara Launcher refreshes the icons.

👽 Reintroduce our subreddit into our list of communities
The /r/NiagaraLauncher subreddit has been reopened for quite some time now. You can either join it using the previous link or by going into Niagara Settings > Community.

🕶️ Improve visibility of dark signatures on the theme selection screen
Previously, dark signatures had a dark shadow, which did not exactly improve visibility.

⏰ Tapping the "weekday" clock style now opens the alarm clock app

🕛 Fix 12h clock displaying 0:00 instead of 12:00 at midnight

✂️ Prevent minimalist clock style from getting cut off in specific cases

👻 Fix layout of the clock style selection screen when using RTL scripts
Some clock styles still don't support RTL scripts perfectly. We'll further improve this in a later update.

🌍 Updated translations

🐛 Fix "no-clock" clock style not being selectable
The "no-clock" clock style, which replaces the "Show clock" option from previous versions, could not be selected.
If you want your clock to be hidden, please long-press the clock > Clock style > select the second style (the one without a big clock) from now on.

🐛 Fix last option in the clock style list not being selectable

🐛 Fix one of the themes not loading correctly
One of the touched-up old themes (the one with a blank white background) did not load correctly and showed an error dialog when tapped.

🙈 Add workaround for failing to launch game apps
We are currently still investigating the issue and cannot provide an ETA for the fix at the current time. As a temporary workaround, a dialog is shown to users on how to quickly launch apps through the App Info screen. We will keep you updated about this issue, and hope to provide a fix soon. 🔥 Remove "Install app" button from private space
Since all app stores are already available in the private space's app list, this button was rather redundant. Due to a bug, it also opened Niagara Launcher's app store entry instead of the store's main page when clicked.

🐛 Fix various keyboard issues
We recently attempted to make showing/hiding the keyboard on the search screen more reliable. Unfortunately, this caused issues in the icon selection screen and when opening search on some devices, so we temporarily reverted this behavior until we have a proper fix ready.

👀 Restore original font sizes for built-in clock styles
In a recent update, internal changes caused the fonts used in the built-in clock styles to be scaled differently. We have now updated our code to restore the original font scale.

✨ Improve backup & restore for widgets
When restoring a backup in Niagara Launcher, widgets loaded from a backup are either restored automatically by the system or will prompt the user to finish the restore process if their intervention is necessary. Please note that the widget's own configuration is not backed up; this includes KWGT widgets.

🐛 Fix reordering widgets while in two-column layout
On large-screen foldables and tablets using a two-column layout, reordering widgets of a widget stack behaved strangely. Now, you can drag & drop as much as you like again.
