@matentzn I created this VERY basic tutorial about how to use Claude-code, based on our sessions. This document is not finished: it should also include some screenshots and additional information that are currently missing. And of course, it needs review! My goal is to have an approachable tutorial, similar to the one we have for how to use GitHub. We can also think about giving one or two obo academy tutorial(s) to get a video of this for future users. Based on what I have been hearing, this is needed

We really really need this. We need approachable documentation for curators in many many of my projects and I really like the introduction to what claude is and is not in Sabrina's words here. I think something that shows how to get a claude code account would be helpful at some point too. I know there is documentation at anthropic for the "how", and we don't want to keep modifying this doc as it changes, but, I think a one-stop-shop for getting started is REALLY helpful for folks just getting started. I am trying out the open source agents with paid models this week <-- would be good to advocate an opensource agent (with paid models) if we can get there. https://github.com/opencode-ai/opencode is one idea. |
Expand the beginner guide with practical tips and workflow updates: clarify that the field and best practices evolve rapidly; add guidance on permissions (how to ask Claude to explain tasks using ‘no’, /btw, or Ctrl+E); provide a command to continue a specific session (claude --session <id>); add instructions for keeping Skills up-to-date and enabling automated updates via /plugin and marketplaces; add guidance to ask Claude to create a Skill from a task.md (using official docs) and a note about avoiding overspecifying Skills for reusability. Also include minor formatting/spacing adjustments.
