NetApp ONTAP systems have Volume limitations found [in the NetApp Hardware Universe page](https://hwu.netapp.com), which can be anywhere from 1000 to 2500 Volumes. Be aware that each Image is a Volume and each Virtual Machine Disk is a Volume with a single LUN inside. This is to retain the atomic disk functionalities provided by OpenNebula.

i think the limit can be higher? cannot check that link but I've seen references of up to 30k for newer NetApps
