This document provides an overview of the OpenShift Architecture Technical Workshop vILT, a three-half-day training session.Description1
This workshop explores the benefits, architecture, installation, and operational management of Red Hat's OpenShift Container Platform. Attendees will learn how to effectively present, design, and architect an on-premises OpenShift installation and deploy it across various public clouds. The primary focus is on OpenShift's infrastructure, providing only a brief overview of development topics. It is suitable for beginners and those who have previously attended who wish to learn about its extended features. Topics Covered
- Architecture
- Installation
- Management
- Networking
- Storage
- Container Runtime Features (CRI-O)
- Virtualization (CNV)
- Deployment on various hardware platforms (ARM, Single Node, etc.)
- Running other solutions on OpenShift
Attendees should meet the following prerequisites: Basic understanding of Linux, containers (Docker / OCI), and networking. A notebook with a browser. Completion of the following online training modules is recommended (available in OPEN): Red Hat Foundations
- How to Sell Red Hat OpenShift for Infrastructure
- How to Sell Red Hat OpenShift for Developers
Upon attending this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Architect and install an OpenShift environment.
- Explain and utilize advanced tools for managing and monitoring OpenShift, such as CRI-O and Istio.
- Explain integration options for development tools and how to install third-party applications on OpenShift (e.g., IBM, SAP, Microsoft).
- Pass the PTP DO280 Assessment and, optionally, the EX280 certification through self-learning.
