Updated equality check to handle bracketing of IPv6 addresses. "[fe80:1:2:3::4]" is equal to "fe80:1:2:3::4"

Before I delve into unit tests and documentation etc. I would like to have feedback on this change, to know beforehand whether it would be accepted. |
