gnuradio 3.8 comes with a bunch of invasive changes:

revamped cmake usage
drops wx support
migrates from py2 to py3
migrates from qt4 to qt5
replaces xml with yaml format

i was able to build gr-dect2 using these changes against gnuradio 3.8
