It is required and mandatory that the dependencies come from Repox only.

The init script adds the Repox repository on all projects.
Using local repositories as a source is generally not recommended, use it on specific purpose only.
The default repositoriesMode is PREFER_PROJECT which means the added Repox repository overrides the repos defined in the settings.gradle and becomes the only one configured for projects.
In case of need for customization, it is possible to change the behavior, but only for custom Repox repositories:
