Configure comprehensive and robust .gitattributes file to ensure correct line endings and treatment of binary artefacts in the repository.
NOTE: Build is untested. Have not confirmed that this does not affect app build.
However, these changes should be safe and enforce more stable and predictable build and file behaviour.
