Dr Louise Yorke

ML engineer and education policy researcher at UCL Institute of Education.

Previously: 15 years of cross-national policy research informing OECD, World Bank and FCDO policy. Now: building the computational tools to answer questions about whose voices shape public debate.

Currently building AtlasED — a cross-jurisdictional NLP pipeline analysing education policy discourse across England, Scotland and Ireland.

What I work on

  • NLP pipelines for policy discourse analysis (NMF, BERTopic, Jensen-Shannon divergence)
  • Contestability and construct validity in AI-mediated public decisions
  • Supervised classification systems for research automation
