Project migrating legacy core banking modules from Microsoft SQL Server (T24 customizations) into Oracle Database as part of the Temenos R24 upgrade.
Involvement:
- Migrated stored procedures, functions, and scripted business logic from T-SQL to Oracle PL/SQL.
- Rewrote procedural operations, cursor handling, conditional flows, and transaction logic for Oracle compatibility.
- Refactored SQL queries to optimize indexes, joins, and execution plans under Oracle constraints.
- Eliminated deprecated SQL Server functions and replaced them with Oracle equivalents.
- Ensured backward compatibility and validated output using parallel regression testing.
- Collaborated with Core Banking & Infra teams for integration with TAFJ/jBase services.
Outcome:
Improved system execution consistency, reduced SQL movement errors, and enabled smooth transition to the new Oracle-backed core banking engine.
