Packaging
This page contain essential information for the Packaging team. Please note that these information should not be referred to an unique release but should be (perfectible, right) applicable to all releases, obviously changing configuration, files and so on.
Packaging is very important to build a consistent, easy-to-manage Linux distribution. Luckily ArcheOS is based on Debian, which provides a rich toolset to help packagers, and the most complete package management system (APT). Is very important to understand why and how a software can be put in a standard shape, so please read carefully all the indications in this page and refer always, when you're in doubt, to the packaging team manager.
