Zen Notepad is a minimalist notepad designed to facilitate distraction-free writing. By subtly fading out unfocused lines, it helps you concentrate on your current thoughts and ideas.

🛠️ Installation

You can install Zen Notepad using one of the following methods:

Option 1: Download the Executable

1. Download the latest release:

   • Installable Version:

   • Portable Version:

2. Run the executable:

   • For the installable version, double-click the downloaded Zen.Notepad.Setup.exe file and follow the installation prompts.
   • For the portable version, simply double-click the Zen.notepad.Standalone.exe file to launch the application without installation.

   Note: Upon launching the Zen Notepad application, you may encounter a warning from Windows Defender indicating that the app is unrecognized. This is due to the application not being digitally signed. Please be assured that Zen Notepad is safe to use and free from malware. If you are using any third-party security software, you may need to add Zen Notepad to your exclusions list to prevent any interruptions.

Option 2: Install from Source

1. Clone the Repository:

   git clone https://github.com/avinashchoran/Zen-Notepad.git

2. Navigate to the Project Directory:

   cd Zen-Notepad

3. Install Dependencies:

   Ensure you have Python installed. Then, install the required packages:

   pip install -r requirements.txt

4. Run the Application:

   python main.py

🎮 Usage

Once the application is running, you can utilize the following keyboard shortcuts for efficient navigation:

• Show/Hide Menu: Ctrl + H
• New File: Ctrl + N
• Open File: Ctrl + O
• Save File: Ctrl + S
• Save As: Ctrl + Shift + S
• Align Text: Ctrl + J
• Toggle Fullscreen: F11
• Delete Previous Word: Ctrl + Backspace
