a Windows desktop utility designed to quickly locate, verify, and organize media files across large storage volumes using the Everything (voidtools) search engine.
The program takes a simple text (.txt) file containing filenames and searches for each entry using Everything’s HTTP API, making the process dramatically faster than traditional filesystem scans. An optional search root can be provided to limit results to specific folders, while a destination folder defines where matched files will be collected.
The interface supports drag-and-drop for both files and folders, provides immediate folder size and file count previews, and displays real-time progress and logging during the search process.
An optional SHA-256 checksum verification can be enabled to ensure file integrity after collection.
Built for practical production workflows, Media Collector is intended for situations where files are scattered across multiple drives, poorly organized archives, or inherited project folders. It prioritizes speed, transparency, and minimal setup, relying only on standard Windows components and an existing Everything installation.
