I understand there is a desire for more lore and story development for BAR, I had some thoughts and tried to tie them in with what is established.
The PR establishes a history linking back to biological humanity with some phases of its development. The concept is that "The Cortex" is a thing made by humanity with a general AI.etc and it eventually became corrupted when humans could live forever in it after death. The proto singularity splits into Cortex which is the original version and Armada, a tweaked version of the Cortex intended to preserve experience itself.
I'd love to discuss this further and know what other ideas are floating around here. If there is interest I would like to find time to flesh it out more.
