Assignment Modifications
Assignment modifications, or "Mods", are the lifeblood of crowdsourcing. They are created when a student chooses to change an assignment from the original class assignment, or when a student changes a student created assignment that they already accepted. Generally, when a student creates a mod, it will be "published" to the other students in the class, and they will receive a notification that they have pending update if they actually have the assignment attached to them.
Note that not all changes possible are necessarily tracked, and that students have the ability to make mods private, meaning that other students will not be notified of the mod.
The currently tracked mod possibilities are:
These mods create a new class assignment with the from_mod flag. Assignments added in this way are not automatically added to new students enrolling in the class, but the mods are immediately available to accept, and may be automatically added if the auto update threshold is passed.
These mods remove an assignment from a student. The class assignment entry remains.
These mods change the weight of the assignment to another weight for the class, or remove the weight.
These mods change the due date of an assignment.
These mods change the name of the assignment.
