Replication materials for "Sickness presenteeism due to respiratory infection in the English workforce: prevalence estimates and demographic factors from the Winter COVID-19 Infection Study (WCIS)"

This repo contains:

• a Quarto notebook that produces the figures and results from the main paper (presenteeism_paper_open_source.qmd)
• a Quarto notebook that produces the figures and results from the Supplementary Materials (presenteeism_appendix_open_source.qmd)
• Synthetic versions of the WCIS data (wcis_syn_df.csv) and poststratification table (poststratification_table_synth.csv), which will allow you to generate results that are very similar to those in the paper based on the real WCIS data.

Running the analysis

You will need the {pacman} package installed - then the start of the presenteeism_paper_open_source.qmd notebook will install and load the necessary packages. The analysis was originally performed on powerful hardware in parallel. The iter argument can be reduced for faster computation at the expense of precision. The re_run_models and re_run_imputation variables can be used to re-load your previously run models.
