Hello and welcome to the documentation / wiki for the Mod Configuration Tool. The mod itself can be found on the Steam Workshop.

The Mod Configuration Tool (MCT) is primarily an in-game system for Total War, for modders to place variables in a public location that users can edit on the fly. MCT takes the shape of the menu itself, and the storage of the settings, and all of the Lua functions (called an API) available for modders to use.

The mod itself is an ancient beast - in progress for more than seven years at the time of writing (early 2025) - and it's changed hands at least once, as well as games.

The rewrite of this documentation is the latest attempt to wrap a neat bow on the years of clunk and progress. Please forgive any glaring mistakes - this wiki is public, and you are more than welcome to submit change requests for any fixes!
