The new taxonomy use a hierarchy format and the description and examples are included in the updated readme file. The visualization folder contains svg and html file for overviewing the proposed new hierarchy. The new taxonomy is defined within the taxonomy.json.

Thank you very much for your PR, I think it is indeed much better than before. Below are some of my suggestions for your consideration.

  1. I support the tree structure as it indeed makes the application more user-friendly and clear in practical use.
  2. Regarding the division of the first-level categories, my suggestion is that it could be divided into:
1). Business and Services: Targeting services that existed in Web2 and will have equivalents in Web3, such as GameFi, SocialFi, etc.
2). Finance: Although it could be categorized under Business and Services, considering the unique financial attributes of blockchain, it deserves its own category.
3). Government: Targeting government-related institutions, corresponding to 1) Business.
4). Risk Activities: Focusing on risk-related activities.
5). Blockchain Specifics: Targeting categories unique to blockchain, such as DAOs, Oracles, etc.
  3. Regarding the subcategories under Business and Services, my suggestion is to refer to the classification logic of application markets like the App Store, dividing from the perspective of which aspects of the service are for users.
