Welcome!

4sight is a surgery scheduling and management system in development for the St. John's Eye Clinic at Baragwanath in Johannesburg.

Background

Currently, St. John's has a very rudimentary paper-based booking system for surgeries, which results in more patients coming for surgery each day than can be handled. This means that a typical patient might have to come to the clinic many times before they finally get their surgery, wasting time, transport money etc.

The main objective is therefore to get a booking system that allows the staff to easily obtain a list of patients sorted according to priority, and allocate them surgery days according to how many doctors are available to operate. Secondary objectives include easy generation of surgery lists, reporting and tracking lenses required.
