Region Files in Vino

Purpose of Region Notes

Region notes in Vino specifically represent wine regions. The distinction between region and appellation notes, although somewhat artificial, is crucial for separating administrative and historical regions (like Central Otago in New Zealand or Zakarpattia Oblast in Ukraine) from protected appellations of origin (AOPs) such as Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG or Morgon AOC.

Requirements for Region Notes

The primary requirement for a region note is the inclusion of a region tag alongside a wine tag. Other than this, there are no specific restrictions.
