Since there has been no maintenance in quite some time, I forked this project to https://github.com/glyph/twitter-text-py and https://pypi.python.org/pypi/twitter-text.
If you're interested in accepting these changes, I am happy to not have maintenance of yet another thing ;-). I'd be happy to turn over the
-py-free PyPI name that matches the module as well.
