Getting Started
In order to begin using Fyrestone, you're going to need to find some Fyrestone Ore in the world.
This ore spawns below Y level 48, and is slightly less common than Iron. mining it drops 1 Fyrestone Shard (can drop more with Fortune enchants).
You'll want to find around 10 Fyrestone shards if you really want to dive right into the mod.
Once you have a few shards, create a 3x3 platform of smooth stone on the ground, ensuring each stone block has at least 2 empty spaces directly above it, then right click on the top of the center stone block with a Fyrestone shard.
This will create the first Ritual Circle: Metallurgy.
This circle is used for almost all metal related crafting in the mod, and the first thing you'll want to make with this circle is the first sword in the mod; the Fyrestone Blade.
To do this, you're going to need 2 more Fyrestone shards, 2 Iron Ingots, and an Iron Sword.
Toss a Fyrestone shard into the circle along with an Iron Ingot, and it'll spit out a Fyrestone Ingot. Do the same with your other shard and ingot.
Then simply throw both Fyrestone ingots into the circle with your Iron sword to get a shiny new Fyrestone Blade.
This sword has a damage and speed equivalent to that of Iron, but a higher durability and, more importantly, it sets any mob you hit with it on fire! Great for killing pigs.
Unfortunately, in order to create any other cool swords, you're going to need an Alchemy Ritual Circle created from a Waterstone shard, which is a little tricky, as you need to perform an Alchemy Ritual in order to get Waterstone shards.
This means you're going to need to somehow force the Metallurgy circle to perform basic Alchemy, and this requires a Fyrestone Catalyst.
The Fyrestone Catalyst is an intense amount of magical power focused into a crystal, and it's not cheap.
To create a Fyrestone Catalyst, you'll need 8 Iron Blocks and 4 Fyrestone Blocks, note that while the Fyrestone blocks are consumed in creating the Catalyst, the Iron blocks aren't, and can be picked up again afterwards.
You're also going to need a diamond.
Begin by placing 4 of the Iron blocks on the corners of the stone platform. These 4 blocks should be placed level with the stone blocks.
Next place another 4 Iron blocks ontop of the first 4, then the Fyrestone blocks ontop of that.
Finally, throw a diamond into the circle. The Fyrestone blocks will disappear, as will the diamond, and you'll be given a Fyrestone Catalyst.
With this, you can finally make Waterstone shards! But don't worry, you won't have to repeat this process for every Waterstone shard you need, only the first one.
In order to create a Waterstone shard, you'll need the Fyrestone Catalyst, a Fyrestone shard, a piece of Lapis, and a Water Bucket (note that you won't get back the empty bucket).
Throw all of these into the Metallurgy circle (iron pillars no longer required) to get your first Waterstone shard!
With this, you can repeat the process used to create the Metallurgy circle, but with a Waterstone shard instead, and you'll create a blue Alchemy circle.
Now creating new Waterstone shards is simply a matter of throwing 1 Fyrestone shard and 1 Lapis into the Alchemy circle.
However, this hasn't unlocked any new swords just yet, but if you create another Fyrestone Catalyst (don't worry, this is the last one you'll need for now) and throw it into the alchemy circle along with a Fyrestone shard and a Dirt block, you'll get your first Earthstone shard, and with it, the ability to create an Imbuing Ritual Circle.
Again the process for creating this circle is the same as the previous 2, and this will unlock the easy recipe for Earthstone shards: 1 Fyrestone shard and 1 Dirt block in the Imbuing circle.
Now it's time to make some more awesome swords! Firstly, you'll need to go exploring and find a Mystical Orb. This is a mysterious item that spawns in Dungeons, Blacksmiths and Jungle Temples, as well as being a rare drop from Endermen.
Each of the remaining 3 swords will require a Mystical orb, so you'll want at least 3 Orbs if you want to make all 3 swords.
To craft the first of the new swords, take an Earthstone shard and an Iron ingot, and throw it into the Metallurgy circle to get an Earthstone Ingot.
Repeat this process again to get a second ingot, then throw both ingots, a stick, and a Mystical Orb into the Metallurgy circle to get the Earthstone Cleaver.
This sword has the same stats as the Fyrestone Blade, but instead of burning it's target, it stuns them, slowing their movement considerably.
This is a little boring, so let's spice it up a little by means of a Plague Core.
For this we'll need 4 Rotten Flesh, 2 Waterstone shards and 2 Glass bottles, as well as another Mystical Orb.
Throw 2 Rotten Flesh, 1 Waterstone shard, and 1 Empty bottle into the Alchemy circle to get a Plague Essence.
Repeat this process to get another one, then throw both Essences and the Mystical Orb into the imbuing circle to get a Plague Core.
Finally, throw this into the Imbuing circle with an Earthstone Cleaver to create the Plagueblade; A sword that poisons those it cuts.
Alternatively, throw the core into the Imbuing circle with a Fyrestone Blade to create Flamevenom; A sword that both poisons and burns enemies, albeit only for a short time.
