When players use side chat, the name of their squad / group appears at the start of each message. The default ArmA group names (or IDs) follow the format "1-1-A", "1-1-B" etc. This is not very helpful to players in a mission which uses the standard Folk ARPS platoon structure, in which formations have names like "Alpha" or "Charlie".
The F3 Folk ARPS Group IDs component automatically applies meaningful names to all standard groups in the F3 Folk ARPS Platoons (including attachments). This means that when players use side chat, their messages will start with "Deputy Commander" or "Charlie" etc. This makes in-game text communications much clearer.
Note: The ORBAT part of the [Briefing] component also uses these group IDs.
When players use side chat, their comments will be prefixed by the following strings:

To add IDs for newly added groups open the file f\setGroupID\f_setGroupIDs.sqf. You can add a custom group's ID using the scheme:
["GroupName","GroupID"],If for example you have placed and named a group GrpNATO_APC1 and want its messages in chat to be preceded by NATO APC1 - you would add:
["GrpNato_APC1","NATO APC1 - "],IMPORTANT: Always make sure there is a , after the ], if you are adding group IDs to the top of the list or inbetween.
Open the file init.sqf and look for the code segment entitled:
// F3 - F3 Folk ARPS Group IDsEdit the line below, adding // to the start:
