Move from `async_std` to `smol` for the async executor, because `async_std` has been discontinued. [async_std]: https://rustsec.org/advisories/RUSTSEC-2025-0052.html Alternative: Move to `tokio`, both `tokio` and `smol` seem valid solutions.
