If SmartFilters does not work the way you want, please, provide the following information in your error report:

  • SmartFilters log
  • Actions that lead to error
  • SmartFilters version
  • Thunderbird version
  • Operation System version

How to get SmartFilters Log?

On Windows:

  1. Select Run... from the Start menu.
  2. Type %appdata%.
  3. Hit Return.
  4. Open the Thunderbird folder.
  5. Go to the Profiles folder.
  6. Go to the folder of your Mozilla Thunderbird profile (probably "********.default" where the '*'s stand for random characters)
  7. Go to the SmartFilters folder
  8. Attach all files inside the SmartFilters folder to your error report

On Mac OS X:

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Press Command-Shift-G.
  3. Type "~/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/".
  4. Open your profile's directory (probably "********.default" where the '*'s stand for random characters).
  5. Go to the SmartFilters folder
  6. Attach all files inside the SmartFilters folder to your error report

On Linux:

  1. Go to the ".thunderbird" directory in your home "~" directory.
  2. Open the profile directory (probably "********.default" where the '*'s stand for random characters).
  3. Go to the SmartFilters folder
  4. Attach all files inside the SmartFilters folder to your error report
