Cluttered is a macOS app that helps developers reclaim disk space by safely cleaning build artifacts, dependency caches, and other regenerable files from development projects.

brew install --cask cluttered- macOS 12.0 (Monterey) or later
- ~50MB disk space
- Cluttered walks through your configured directories (default: home folder)
- For each folder, it checks if it's a project root for any supported ecosystem
- When a project is found, it analyzes:
- Total size of cleanable artifacts
- Last modification date
- Git status (uncommitted changes)
- Whether it's currently open in an IDE
Projects are classified by activity level:

Cluttered protects your work:
- Uncommitted changes - Projects with uncommitted git changes are protected
- Active projects - Recently modified projects show a warning
- Protected paths - Mark folders as never-clean
- Trash by default - Files go to Trash and can be recovered
