A modern, student-centered introduction to differential equations.
Exploring Differential Equations is an open-access textbook designed for undergraduate courses in differential equations. It emphasizes conceptual understanding, real-world motivation, and readable explanations. The narrative combines calculus intuition with accessible workflows for solving differential equations both analytically and numerically.
The book is written entirely in PreTeXt, a semantic XML-based markup language for authors of STEM textbooks and articles. This format ensures high-quality output for HTML, PDF, Braille, and more.
- Student-friendly explanations with minimal jargon
- Rich examples and guided workflows
- Conceptual checkpoint questions and visualizations
- Consistent notation and terminology throughout
- Structured for both self-study and classroom use
