How to create ASP.NET Core MVC in Visual Studio

• start with creating BookViewModel.cs in your Models package.
• list all required columns from your table.
• Right-click Controllers > Add > Controller... > and choose [MVC Controller with views, using Entity Framework] to generate and scaffold all the CRUD web forms automatically.

How to deploy ASP.NET Core MVC to IIS

1. Install the .NET Core SDK
2. Install the .NET Core Hosting Bundle
3. Restart IIS with: iisreset

Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager

• Edit Application Pool
• Name: mvc
• .NET CLR version: No Managed Code
• Managed pipeline mode: Integrated
• [/]Start application pool immediately

Sites > mvc

• Bindings...
• Edit Site Binding
• Type: http
• IP address: All Unassigned (*)
• Port: 82
• Host name: (*)

web.config

Add below codes to your web.config

<aspNetCore processPath="dotnet" arguments=".\mvc.dll" stdoutLogEnabled="false" stdoutLogFile=".\logs\stdout" hostingModel="inprocess">
	<environmentVariables>
		<environmentVariable name="ASPNETCORE_ENVIRONMENT" value="Development" />
	</environmentVariables>

Create new user to SQL Server

• Security > right click > New > Login...
• Login name: IIS APPPOOL\mvc
• [/] Windows authentication
• Default database: booksDb
• Server Roles > Server roles: public
• User Mapping > Users mapped to the login: booksDb
• User Mapping > Database role membership for booksDb: public
• Status > Settings > Permission to connect to database engine: Grant
• Status > Settings > Login: Enabled
• Click OK
