This PR adds comprehensive unit tests for the distance_to_point method in the Lane class within agents/world_builder.py. This method is critical for lane-keeping and collision detection.

The tests cover:

  • Happy path (point on center line)
  • Offsets (perpendicular distance)
  • Boundary conditions (points beyond start/end of lane, verifying clamping logic)
  • Edge cases (zero-length lane segments)
  • Geometric variations (diagonal lanes and negative coordinate space)

To support running these tests in environments without numpy and pygame, a mocking strategy was implemented in tests/conftest.py.

Coverage was verified by introducing a regression (removing clamping) and confirming that the tests failed as expected.

- Added `tests/test_world_builder.py` with 7 unit tests for `Lane.distance_to_point`.
- Covers points on line, perpendicular, beyond start/end (clamping), zero-length lanes, diagonal lanes, and negative coordinates.
- Added `tests/conftest.py` to mock `numpy` and `pygame` dependencies for the test environment.
- Verified that tests correctly identify bugs by temporarily removing clamping logic.
