Replacing XSync with XFlush in drw_map significantly reduces latency during frequent drawing operations (e.g., status bar updates). XSync forces a round-trip to the X server, blocking the client until the server processes the request. XFlush sends the request buffer without waiting, which is sufficient as X11 protocol guarantees order of execution for the same client. This optimization improves the responsiveness of the UI, especially during high-frequency updates.
