- Clone this repository
- Make sure your node environment is 8.2+ and NPM is 5.3.0
- Navigate to root folder and run
npm install - Run
EVENT_NAME=harvey npm run setup-varsorEVENT_NAME=irma npm run setup-vars- You will only need to run this once, and whenever you want to switch events while developing locally.
- Then run
npm run startoryarn start
-
For each different event you want you configure for, you will need to make a file named
.env.${event-name}. -
For what environment variables need to be defined, see existing
.envfiles and./src/config.js. -
For your heroku app, you will need to set an
EVENT_NAMEconfig variable like so:heroku config:set EVENT_NAME=${event-name} --app ${app-name}For example:
heroku config:set EVENT_NAME=irma --app irma-staging heroku config:set EVENT_NAME=irma --app irma-shelters heroku config:set EVENT_NAME=harvey --app harvey-shelters-staging heroku config:set EVENT_NAME=harvey --app harvey-shelters -
Now, you can deploy by pushing to the heroku remotes as usual.
For example:
git push irma-staging master -
Once heroku receives your push, it will do the following for you:
- Run
npm run heroku-prebuildand set up your environment variables - Run
npm install - Run
npm run heroku-postbuildbuilding the static files for your app - Run
npm run start-staticas referenced in theProcfileto serve up your built app statically on thePORTas defined by the heroku environment.
- Run
