For me, this would be a breaking change. I’m already struggling with the webpack-dev-server update to get the correct MIME types, so a change in MIME types, like changing the MIME type of JavaScript files, would be a breaking change. It could break tests or projects that rely on returning the correct MIME type.
I’m not sure if version 2 is used in any package that Express maintains
