User Guide

1. Getting Started

  1. Upload Audio: Click the 📂 MP3 button (or the large music note icon) to select your audio file.
    • Supported Formats: MP3, WAV, OGG (browser dependent).
    • Note: Once uploaded, a waveform will generate automatically.
  2. Load Lyrics: Click 📝 Lyrics. Paste your lyrics into the text box and click "Load Lyrics".
    • Tip: Ensure your lyrics are broken into lines exactly how you want them to appear on screen.

2. The Syncing Process

This is the heart of GlassSync. The workflow is designed for rhythm and speed.

  1. Start the Music: Press Spacebar or click ▶ Play.
  2. Tap to Sync: When the singer sings the highlighted line, press the Down Arrow (↓) or the green Sync Next button.
    • The line will turn Green (Synced).
    • The focus will instantly jump to the next line.
  3. Repeat: Keep tapping the Down Arrow to the beat of the vocals until you reach the end.

3. Editing & Mistakes

GlassSync allows you to fix mistakes without reloading the page.

  • Undo (Up Arrow): If you press sync too early or late, press Up Arrow (↑).
    • This resets the current line.
    • It rewinds the audio to the start of that line so you can try again immediately.
    • Special Behavior: If you are on the very first line, pressing Up will sync it to 00:00.00.
  • Fine Tuning: Use the and arrow keys to nudge the current timestamp backward or forward by 0.1 seconds.
  • Delete Lines: Click the small × button on the right side of any line to remove it (useful for removing instrumental breaks or duplicate chorus lines).

4. Visual Navigation

  • Waveform: The blue waveform at the top represents your audio. You can click or drag anywhere on the waveform to scrub through the song instantly.
  • Scrubber: A standard slider is available in the middle of the controls for coarse seeking.

5. Preview Mode

Click the 👁️ Preview button to open the Karaoke view.

  • This overlays the lyrics on a dark background.
  • Click-to-Seek: Click any line in the preview window to jump the audio exactly to that timestamp.
  • Use the bottom slider to scrub through the preview.

6. Export

When finished, click Download SRT. This will generate a file named lyrics.srt which you can use with YouTube, VLC, or other media players.
