Addresses all critical and moderate drift identified in the 2026-02-18
audit of canon/constraints/README.md.

Critical fixes:

  • Update ODD constraint title and MUST NOT to reflect Epoch 5 revision:
ODD is value-grounded, not value-free; retains boundary against moral authority
  • Add "Humans Are Variable Inputs" to Outline, Operating Constraints,
Failure Modes, and Verification — constraint was invisible to index readers
  • Rewrite §11 per D0016: "Lane Self-Containment" → "Work-Unit Self-Containment";
removes stale products// directory convention, preserves surviving principle

Moderate fixes:

  • Add "No Irreversible Action" MUST NOT to Operating Constraints
  • Add "Humans Are Variable Inputs" MUST NOT to Operating Constraints
  • Update Description paragraph to reflect full constraint set (16 constraints,
    not the original 11)
  • Expand Failure Modes to cover newer constraints: Premature Collaboration,
Epistemic Amnesia, Boundary Rushing, Irreversible Overcommit,
    Human System Blame, Hero Posture
  • Expand Verification to cover all constraints, not just original 11

Minor fixes:

  • Remove stale "Canon v0.1" status footer and Content section label
  • Remove emoji (💡, ✅) from Closing Note per canon formatting conventions
  • Update "Scattered Lanes" → "Scattered Work Units" in Failure Modes

Note

Low Risk
Documentation-only changes that adjust terminology and indexing; risk is limited to potential reader confusion if downstream references expect the old section names.

Overview
Updates canon/constraints/README.md to reflect the expanded constraints set and current Epoch 5 language, including renaming/reframing the ODD constraint as value-grounded while maintaining the no moral-authority boundary.

Replaces the obsolete Lane Self-Containment section with Work-Unit Self-Containment (removing the products/<lane>/ directory convention) and expands the index-level Outline/Operating Constraints/Failure Modes/Verification to include newer constraints like irreversibility gates, human variability, single-agent integrity, epistemic encoding, boundary deceleration, and guide posture; also removes stale “Canon v0.1” status/footer and formatting emoji.
