We have very noisy CI/CD logs and these trigger an excessive amount of snapshot persistence calls (due to frequent cluster creation/updates) slowing down log ingest significantly. By creating a snapshots by only a timed interval or once at the end we saw an 80% speed increase.
The defaults leave things as they are; see README for more details.
