Review Summary
Great job on the overall server implementation, especially the security measures against path traversal! Your solution is very close. However, changes are needed because it doesn't correctly handle requests for the root file path. According to the requirements, both /file and /file/ should serve public/index.html. Currently, your code returns a hint message for /file and a 404 error for /file/. Please add logic to specifically check for these two paths and serve index.html accordingly. After you make this adjustment, everything should be working perfectly!

This condition doesn't account for the requirement that a request to /file should serve public/index.html. Currently, /file is treated as an invalid path and triggers the hint message.

Requests to /file/ should serve public/index.html, but this check causes a 404 error instead. When the path is /file/, the requestedFile variable becomes an empty string, which makes this condition true. You should handle this case to serve the default file as required.

Review Summary
Excellent work on this update! I am approving your solution as you've successfully addressed the feedback from the previous review. The server now correctly handles requests for /file and /file/, and your solution meets all requirements, including the security constraints against path traversal. The code is well-structured and handles all specified use cases correctly. Great job!
