Merges into #168.

This PR addresses the recent CI fail:

in which an import from adapt_common.reduction fails.

I think the reason this is still failing is that there hasn't been a successful Docker build that includes adapt_common. See https://github.com/mesh-adaptation/docs/actions/runs/20852629041/job/59913183569.
