Answers to common questions about MyResidency app
MyResidency is a mobile application designed to help you track and manage your residency application processes, documents, and travel requirements. It provides checklists, reminders, document storage, and travel tracking to make the residency application process easier.
- Android: Available on Google Play Store
- iOS: Available on Apple App Store
The app is completely free to download and use. There are no hidden fees, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
Currently supported:
- 🇩🇪 Germany (EU Blue Card, Work Permit, Residence Permit)
- 🇵🇱 Poland (EU Blue Card, Work Permit, Temporary Residence Permit)
More countries are planned for future updates.
Yes! All your data is stored locally on your device. We do not transmit personal information to external servers unless you explicitly choose to create backups. Your data belongs to you and stays on your device.
- Download and install MyResidency
- Launch the app and tap "Get Started"
- Select your country (Germany or Poland)
- Choose your city
- Select your residency type
- Choose topics you're interested in
- The app generates your personalized checklist
If your specific city isn't listed, choose the nearest major city. The app will still work effectively. Contact us if you'd like us to add your location.
Yes! Go to Settings → Country & City to change your selections. The app will update your checklist accordingly.

The app generates personalized checklists based on your country and residency type. Check off tasks as you complete them, and the app tracks your progress. You can also add custom tasks.
For security reasons, we don't store actual document files. Instead, track document metadata (titles, expiration dates, categories) and store the actual files securely elsewhere (encrypted cloud storage, physical safe, etc.).
Add your trips with start/end dates. The app calculates days spent outside your residency country, helping you stay compliant with residency requirements (180 days for Germany, 270 days for Poland).
Yes! Set reminders for important deadlines, document expirations, and appointments. The app sends notifications to help you stay on track.
Yes! Go to Settings → Backup to create encrypted backups. You can save them locally or to cloud storage. Restore anytime by importing a backup file.
Settings → Backup → Export Data. This creates a file with all your information that you can save or share.
Yes, but be careful! Settings → Data Management → Reset Database will delete ALL data. Create a backup first if you want to keep your information.
100% locally on your device. Your phone or tablet stores all information. We have no access to your data.
No. We don't collect, store, or transmit any personal information. The app works entirely offline for core features.
We don't use analytics, tracking, or any third-party services that collect user data. Your privacy is our priority.
Yes! MyResidency follows GDPR principles:
- Data minimization (collect only what's needed)

- Transparency (clear privacy practices)
Your data is protected by your device security (PIN, biometric, encryption). If you have backups, you can restore to a new device. Otherwise, data cannot be recovered.
Yes! Settings → Data Management → Reset Database permanently deletes all app data from your device.
German Blue Card holders must spend at least 180 days per year in Germany to maintain residency status. Use the Trips feature to track this.
Typically after 33 months with German B1 language skills, or 21 months with B1 language certificate. Check with authorities for your specific case.
