🔥 Hell-scape

Escape the underworld together. A 2D cooperative platformer where heaven and hell must unite to find a way out.

Unity C# Genre

Hell-scape is a 2D platformer created for the EPITA S2 Project. The game centers on the cooperation between two unlikely protagonists: Angie, an angel, and Dimy, a demon. Trapped in an infernal world inspired by Catholic and Greek mythologies, they must combine their unique powers to overcome obstacles and escape.

🎮 Gameplay Features

Cooperative Mechanics

The game is designed for two simultaneous players. Success depends on synergy—certain paths can only be cleared by using both characters' skills in tandem.

Unique Characters

  • Angie (The Angel): Focuses on mobility and support. She possesses the ability to fly and heal her companion.
  • Dimy (The Demon): Focuses on offense and agility. He is faster on the ground and can throw projectiles to defeat enemies.

Retro Aesthetic

The game features a pixel-art style, paying homage to classic retro platformers of the 8-bit and 16-bit eras.

🏛️ Lore & Inspiration

The universe of Hell-scape is a symbolic blend of:

  • Catholicism: Iconography of angels, demons, and the structure of Hell.
  • Greek Mythology: Influences on the landscape and the trials the duo must face.

🚀 How to Play (Development Build)

  1. Clone the repository
    git clone https://github.com/noecrn/HellScape.git
  2. Open in Unity
    • Launch Unity Hub.
    • Add the project folder.
    • Open with a compatible Unity Editor version.
  3. Run
    • Open Assets/Scenes/Menu.unity.
    • Press Play.

🎯 Project Goal

This project represents our ambition to create a finished, functional video game by the end of the second semester. By blending mechanics from our favorite platformers with an original visual identity, we have built a game we are proud to share.
