I think it's not uncommon to want to name session files for tmuxomatic with some extension such as
.mux. Unfortunately, because tmuxomatic uses the filename as a session name verbatim, and newer versions of tmux do not permit periods in session names, this leads to a confusing error message when one tries to use tmuxomatic with an old session file after just upgrading tmux.This pull request drop extensions on filenames containing periods when using filenames as session names, since tmux 1.9 does not permit periods in session names.
