Added the _bgzip_ann_data function to compress extracted annotation files using bgzip and updated _retrieve_ann_data to use this function. Changed annotation file URLs to point to .gz files instead of .tar.gz, ensuring annotation files are compressed after extraction for downstream compatibility.
