The Multiplayer Update

What's New

This version includes a new suite of quality of life and multiplayer-focused mods aimed at optimizing the Minecraft server and the network stack, as well as introducing tools for server management.

Resource packs have once again been reshuffled to fix visual artifacts caused by incompatibility. Some lovely new ones have also been added.

Gameplay

As for gameplay, there are a few mods that change the experience.

Antique Atlas 4 has replaced Map Atlases, so pressing M will bring up a vanilla-friendly world map, no items required. Information on the map is purposefully limited to keep the player focused on exploring the world and instead of staring at a minimap. This also means vanilla maps are still useful as they provide more detailed information about the terrain around the player.

The Gravestones mod is introduced as a solution to vanilla's painful 5 minute timer on item despawns. Your items and XP will be stored in a gravestone on death, but be careful, as it may degrade if you die again.

Ender Dragon Fight Remastered has unfortunately been removed due to its ear-piercingly loud boss music and it's inability to be configured.

Exposure has been added as it provides a new way to enjoy Minecraft, through photography!

Quality of Life

A number of mods have been added to provide smoother gameplay. Along with Antique Atlas 4, Surveystones has been added so activated Waystones will also show up on the map.

Stendhal has been added for easier book writing and unicode typing.

Trade Cycling has been added to eliminate the need to break and replace Villager job blocks to refresh trades.

Zoomify has been replaced with the more focused Spyglass Improvements mod, removing the need for Java 21 to be installed. This will not impact gameplay.

Multiplayer

A new category of mods has been added, focusing on the multiplayer experience. There are new optimization mods such as Memory Leak Fix and Packet Fixer as well as the notable AntiXray to combat Xray cheats. The mod "Bad Wither No Cookie" removes server-wide global sound events and makes them localized.

Factions has been introduced, allowing players to join forces and claim land. Careful not to die, or your claimed land may become vulnerable to enemy factions.

New player customization is also available. Better Capes has been added, allowing you to choose from a selection of capes, or upload your own! Styled Nicknames will allow you to set a server-specific nickname.

  • Updated Fabric Loader to 0.17.2

Less Is More

What's New

This version marks the public release of the mod pack as well as the launch of my own modded SMP, hence the large cleanup. Version 0.3.0 brings a more unified experience by sticking to the vanilla gameplay where it is strongest and removing some bloat that was previously present.

The visual style of the modpack has been overhauled and will continue to be iterated on. Additionally, pack stability and cohesion between mods was the top priority here. The guide and the README have been rewritten for clarity and accuracy.
