We are retro-computing enthusiasts focused on Commodore-style systems, modern recreations, and practical programming on real (and emulated) 8-bit hardware.
Our interests center on the Commander X16 and the broader Commodore lineage (C64, VIC-20, IEC devices), with an emphasis on writing real software for constrained machines—tools, games, utilities, and experiments that respect the character of the platform.
- Develop and maintain software for the Commander X16 and Commodore systems
- Write and share programs in Prog8, a modern structured language targeting 6502-based machines
- Build and document retro hardware, peripherals, and workflows
- Curate and preserve software for long-term access and discovery
We enjoy Prog8 because it bridges classic hardware with modern language ideas—strong structure, readable syntax, and efficient output—without losing the discipline required by limited memory, fixed hardware, and cycle-aware design.
If you enjoy thinking in terms of:
- screen memory and character cells
- zero-page tradeoffs
- disk and IEC realities
- tight loops and predictable behavior
…you’ll feel at home here.

Retro computing isn’t nostalgia for us—it’s a constraint-driven engineering mindset.
Small machines force clarity, intention, and respect for the whole system. That discipline still matters.
If that resonates, welcome.
