Hello @rjoberon,
this is my attempt to allow an optional domain-relative linking of PDFs. I was not sure about the implementation of the main-function, why there is a TODO to consider the new variable "pdf_link_prefix", too. Nevertheless, the changes work fine with my bibsonomy-jekyll plugin changes for which I will create a pull request for in the next minutes.
