On generation of the scaffold with an initial model:

ember generate --scaffold person name:string age:number

add a link to #people to the index.html:

<nav>
  <ul>
    <li>{{#linkTo "index"}}Home{{/linkTo}}</li>
  </ul>
</nav>

like so:

<nav>
  <ul>
    <li>{{#linkTo "index"}}Home{{/linkTo}}</li>
    <li>{{#linkTo "people"}}People{{/linkTo}}</li>
  </ul>
</nav>

instead of the comment the README.md:

# visit #/people

I think this would be more intuitive than the comment. I needed a few tries to get the URL right, since there are some uncertainties (with or without trailing slash, # or #! etc.)
