What's new?
- The bundled DropBot plugin (i.e.,
microdrop.dropbot-plugin v2.22.5) includes:- Detection and indicator identifying when a DMF chip is inserted into the DropBot.
- Retry of electrode actuation until a specified capacitance threshold is
reached (currently does not apply to routes, only explicit electrode
actuation). - Logging of capacitance measurements (one measurement per step) into a
comma-separated value (CSV) file. - Improved detection of DropBot during startup and connection.

click-and-drag action. - Smooth resizing of main window and DMF device UI window.
- Real-time update of video transform while clicking and dragging control
- Various bug fixes, including preventing spurious resizing of main MicroDrop

What's new?
- The bundled DropBot plugin (i.e.,
microdrop.dropbot-plugin v0.16.1) includes: - New plugin format (see below)
- Watch for updates from multiple sources (see below)
- Various bug fixes
- Reduce occurrences of unresponsive user interface
New plugin format
This release uses Conda packages with the prefix "microdrop." for MicroDrop plugins, which provides numerous benefits:
- Plugins can easily specify run-time dependencies as a list of Conda packages
- Custom Conda channels can be used to release custom MicroDrop plugins
- Local directories can be configured as Conda channels, facilitating local testing of plugins during development
Multiple default update sources
MicroDrop uses Conda to manage dependencies and plugins. Conda manages available packages through sources called "channels".
The following are the default Conda package channels set by the installer, from lowest to highest priority:
- https://conda.anaconda.org/wheeler-microfluidics/
- https://conda.anaconda.org/sci-bots
Backwards incompatible changes
- Due to the renaming of plugins, existing protocols developed using MicroDrop
< 2.8are not currently supported
MicroDrop v2.11 Installer

- Custom Conda channels can be used to release custom MicroDrop plugins
- Local directories can be configured as Conda channels, facilitating local testing of plugins during development

Caveats
- Existing protocols developed using MicroDrop
< 2.8are not currently supported- DRC protocols will still work
- We recommend uninstalling any existing MicroDrop installation before installing MicroDrop v2.11
Installer (most users)
Installer including MR-Box plugin and other developer dependencies for DRC project
MicroDrop-DRC-2.11.1-Windows-x86.exe- Note: The
MicroDrop-DRC-MR-Box-2.11-Windows-x86.exeinstaller had a typo in thepkgs/post-install.batwhich prevented a) the installed plugins Conda packages from being linked into the available MicroDrop plugins list, and b) the default Conda channels from being set. In an existingMicroDrop-DRC-MR-Box-2.11install, this can be fixed by running theMicroDrop-DRC-post-install.batfile below in the root of the Conda installation.
- Note: The
Microdrop 2.4 - Windows x86
MicroDrop 2.4 release including:
- MicroDrop shortcuts added to Windows menu (under "MicroDrop")
- MicroDrop Profile Manager dialog.
