Prepare

Install Node.js and npm from here.

Once Node.js is installed, globally install pnpm by running:

npm install -g pnpm

To install all dependencies

pnpm install

Install the Metamask browser extension from here.

Usage

Development

Run these 2 commands in 2 different terminals

# run node server

pnpm be:node

# deploy contract on above server

pnpm be:deploy:local

Make sure backend is still running. This is how to setup Metamask

1. Add a custom network with the following details:
2. URL: http://127.0.0.1:8545
3. ChainId: 1337
4. Currency: ETH
5. Add the account using one of these private keys (prefer as admin is account #19)

When backend is available and Metamask is setup, run this command in different terminal:

pnpm fe:dev

Open your browser and enter the following URL: http://localhost:5173

Ensure all terminals remain active to keep both frontend and backend services running.

Docker

First, build the skillchain image by opening the terminal in the project's root directory.

docker buildx build . -t skillchain:latest

Run the image.

docker run --rm -it -p 4173:4173 -p 8545:8545 --name skillchain skillchain:latest

Open in browser at http://localhost:4173
