Before Next (state July 2024)

This was the last update before the "next" version, which was a full reset and rewrite from scratch.

This release is not fully functional. It is, however, the furthers the python-based runtime ever got developed. We keep it around for archeological reasons.

Pre-Distributed Version

The latest version of agent uses a distributed runtime that runs in several processes. This is the old in-process version before the re-write and refactor.
