Thanks @fstltna. Is this MUD open to the public? I was not able to log in: |

Yes it is open. You entered the new player password and not a name :) you should enter your desired player name and then when it asks for the creation password enter "add.me" Marisa LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/marisagiancarla

Thanks, I was able to log in. Many of MUDRammer's users are new to MUDs, and if this tripped me up, they might get stuck too. I wonder what is the point of a login that requires (and gives) a password on the same screen? Why not just remove this passcode? |

Some people don't give out the creation password so that only the deity can create new players to keep someone from registering multiple accounts. I will try and change the wording to make it more clear... Marisa LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/marisagiancarla

I'm not sure I understand; the creation password is given to everyone since it's on the login screen, right? So why have a creation password at all? |

Some people don't give it out their creation password on their connection screen... I'll look into allowing it to be optionally disabled. Marisa LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/marisagiancarla

I think what I didn't understand until now is that Empire is a MUD server template, and this particular MUD ( The command syntax is very unusual. Is there anyone playing? I haven't been able to find a way to list other players, or really figure out how to do much of anything, even move or log out, in-game. I tried the documentation (https://empiredirectory.net/index.php/new-downloads/send/16-documentation/31-imperium-intro) but none of the help files it references ("communication", "society", "economics") exist in-game; and more broadly it doesn't seem to match the game I'm seeing. Honestly, I'm a little baffled. What is going on here? In any case, I think you would have many more successful logins if you removed the creation password from this MUD. :) |

Actually Empire is a separate but similar game. This game is the official server for the Imperium game engine. To see all the registered players use the "players" command. Players currently connected have a "*" by their name. To view the docs there are two commands: "help" and "doc". In general the help files are related to a single command or are short, while the doc files tend to be more general and longer. To view the docs in-game just do "doc files" "doc communication" etc. I suggest reading the "imperium outline" and "imperium introduction" files from the link you quoted as they explain a lot. In the short term I will try and make the creation password issue more clear. Thanks for your feedback! Marisa LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/marisagiancarla
